BKI Master’s Students Share Research for Social Impact
The Master’s Program in Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) at the Faculty of Da’wa and Communication, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta, held an academic event titled Research Dissemination on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The event took place in Room 306 of the FDK Building and was attended by the 2024 cohort of BKI graduate students as part of efforts to strengthen academic capacity and enhance research quality.
Carrying the theme “Knowledge That Empowers, Positive Counseling That Liberates,” the event served as a strategic platform for students to present the findings of their ongoing research. The forum was formally opened by two distinguished academics, Prof. Dr. Hj. Casmini, M.Si., and Moh. Khoerul Anwar, Ph.D., who also served as reviewers and provided feedback on each presentation.
Throughout the session, participants delivered clear and enthusiastic presentations, demonstrating a strong grasp of the issues under discussion. Topics ranged from Islamic counseling approaches to psychological dynamics and the empowerment of individuals and communities. Both reviewers praised the overall quality of the presentations while offering critical notes and constructive suggestions to strengthen each study’s theoretical foundation, methodology, and relevance. These insights are expected to serve as a valuable foundation for students as they refine their proposals and continue developing their research.
The event highlighted the BKI graduate students’ strong commitment to advancing knowledge that not only builds solid theoretical understanding but also empowers others through transformative and human-centered counseling practices. In his closing remarks, Moh. Khoerul Anwar, Ph.D., Head of the Master’s Program in BKI, expressed gratitude to all contributors, especially the DIKSI Forum, for serving as a collaborative space for academic growth. The event concluded with a group photo of participants and reviewers, symbolizing a shared commitment to cultivating a meaningful and sustainable research culture. (lkt)
