Master’s Program in Islamic Guidance and Counseling Holds Orientation for New Students
Yogyakarta, Indonesia — On Friday, February 7, 2025, the Master’s Program in Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University hosted an academic orientation for new students at the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication. The event welcomed 16 incoming students from various universities across Indonesia, offering them an introduction to the program’s curriculum and learning system, as well as an opportunity to meet faculty members.
The two-day event commenced on Thursday, February 6, with an opening address by the university’s rector via Zoom. The orientation then continued in person the following day, featuring sessions led by Moh. Khoerul Anwar, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., head of the Master’s Program, and Prof. Hj. Nurjannah, M.Si.
During his remarks, Dr. Khoerul Anwar underscored the core values essential for academic success, including integrity, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage. Prof. Nurjannah reinforced this message, emphasizing that morality is a fundamental pillar of education. “What matters most in education is the formation of moral character,” she stated.
The orientation aimed to equip students with the knowledge and mindset necessary to navigate their academic journey with adaptability and independence. (rev-mka)
