The Master’s Program in Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) at the Faculty of Da’wa and Communication, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta, successfully hosted the DIKSI Forum on Thursday, June 12. Held in Room 306 of the faculty building, the event brought together all BKI graduate students and featured a distinguished expert in the field of Islamic counseling. With the theme “Knowledge That Empowers, Positive Counseling That Liberates,” the forum aimed to broaden academic insight while deepening practical understanding of the role of knowledge in transformative, empowerment-oriented counseling.
The forum opened with remarks by Dr. H. Muhsin, M.A., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Student Affairs, who emphasized the vital synergy between Islamic scholarship and counseling science in shaping professionals of integrity, excellence, and social awareness. Moh. Khoerul Anwar, Ph.D., Head of the Master’s Program in BKI, delivered the second address, expressing appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and active engagement. He reaffirmed the program’s commitment to supporting academic forums that bridge theoretical foundations with practical applications in Islamic counseling.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Dr. Amien Wahyudi, M.Pd., Kons., who offered a comprehensive exploration of counseling science as a means of empowering both individuals and communities. He highlighted the importance of social sensitivity, spiritual depth, and scholarly rigor as essential qualities for counselors seeking to become agents of positive change.
The forum featured dynamic, interactive discussions that encouraged critical thinking and meaningful dialogue between students and the speaker.
